Im Bezirk Mitte befinden sich zahlreiche Schauplätze, die in Verbindung mit den Deportationen der Jüdinnen und Juden aus Berlin 1941 bis 1945 stehen. Dieses Buch stellt ausgewählte Orte der Verbrechen des Nationalsozialismus in Berlin vor und zeichnet ihre historischen Beziehungen zueinander nach. Zugleich unternimmt es eine kunstgeschichtliche Einordnung der Formen des Gedenkens an den Holocaust – ein Buch zur Infrastruktur der „letzten Wege“ in Berlin.
 
In the Berlin district of Mitte there are numerous venues that are connected with the deportations of Jews from Berlin in the time from 1941 to 1945. Not every one of these places is now a memorial site. This book presents selected Berlin venues where Nazi crimes were committed and traces their historical correlations. At the same time, it undertakes an art-history presentation of the forms of remembrance of the Holocaust – a book on the infrastructure of the “last ways” through Berlin.
